On March 23, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission approved all the proposed changes to the saltwater fishing regulations. Those regulatory changes are scheduled to sunset in August of 2023. It has been known to exceed 300 pounds, but the Texas record is 229 pounds, 90 inches, 2017.
